Project Description
Wow, this is going to be a long read! Lots of stuff going on here!!!
The rifle:
This is a 1/3 scale Hawkin style percussion rifle made by master miniaturist Ron DeWalt. 15 5/16″ long overall with a 9 15/16″ browned steel octagon rifled barrel of .158 caliber. Browned lockplate with a browned hammer, the hammer having both half & full cock. The ramrod thimbles are browned. Yellow brass furniture including the triggerguard, lockplate screw escutcheon, buttplate, & functional patchbox. The trigger is finished in the white. Beautiful fiddle back maple one piece half stock with just gorgeous grain! The foreend with a horn tip. Dovetailed sporting front & rear sights. One piece full length wood ramrod with a brass jagged tip. About as nice a Hawkin style miniature as I’ve ever seen!
The pistol:
This is a 1/3 scale matching Hawkin style half stock percussion pistol. 5 3/4″ long overall with a 3 5/8″ browned rifled octagon barrel of .165 caliber. Browned lock assembly as above, the hammer with both half & full cock. Brass furniture including the ramrod thimble, triggerguard, buttcap, & lockplate screw tear drop shaped escutcheon. The trigger is finished in the white. Beautiful fiddle back maple one piece half stock with just gorgeous grain! The foreend with an ebony tip. Dovetailed sporting front & rear sights. Full length wood ramrod with an ebony tip.

A jaw bone handled steel bladed knife with a beautiful leather beaded scabbard. 3 1/4″ long overall with a 2 13/16″ blade. The left side of the blade marked “STERLING SILVER CO., TRIPLE PLATED” in two lines.
Two powder horns, one each for the pistol & rifle. The smaller pistol flask also with a tiny horn powder measure.

A gorgeous leather beaded possibles bag with leather shoulder strap & small knife with a bone handle with scabbard incorporated into the leather strap.

A carved stone road runner with turquois eyes, 5.8″ tall x 1″ long.
Two fully functional “Mosquito Traps”, small nickel plated double spring traps sold as novelties, but go really well with this display!
A miniature big horn sheep’s skull. About 2 1 1/4″ long front to back, 3 3/8 tip to tip on the horns, cast from some sort of resin, then doctored to look real!
All displayed on a miniature saddle blanket measuring 18 1/8″ X 13 1/4″.
