!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/3 scale U.S. 1842 N.P. Ames Navy percussion martial pistol by master miniature maker Robin Armstrong of England. 3 7/8″ long overall with a 2″ smoothbore barrel of about .185 caliber. Steel barrel, lock assembly, trigger, ramrod, and bridal finished in the white. Yellow brass triggerguard, barrel band, and buttcap. The top rear of the barrel near the tang marked “USN, 1844, RP, P” in four lines. The middle of the lockplate marked “N.P. AMES, SPRINGFIELD, MASS” in three lines. The rear of the lockplate marked vertically “USN, 1843” in two lines. Swivel ramrod. The hammer with both half and full cock. Straight grain American one piece walnut stock. Complete with the original Armstrong medium brown leather covered hinged top casing with push button latch. The interior bottom French fit and covered in a dark green velour. The interior top padded and covered in a medium green silk which is marked in gold with the Armstrong coat of arms and the maker’s name. Mint “as new” condition. Robin is one of the finest miniature makers to ever walk the planet!!! This is the first one of these I have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale!
