!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/3 scale U.S. 1796 British pattern Sea Service flintlock martial pistol by master miniature maker Robin Armstrong of England. 6 7/16″ long overall with a 4″ smoothbore barrel of about .185 caliber. Steel barrel, lock assembly, trigger, and belt hook which are finished in the white. Yellow brass triggerguard, buttcap, sideplate, and ramrod thimbles. The top rear of the barrel near the tang marked with two British proofs. The first is a crown over GR over a downward pointing arrow. The second is a crown over what looks to be crossed swords. The middle of the lockplate marked with an ornate crown over GR with a much smaller crown over a downward pointing arrow reading vertically just ahead of it. The rear of the lockplate “TOWER”. The lockplate with some double line border engraving at the middle and rear. The belt hook marked with a crown just to the rear of the screw. The hammer with both half and full cock. Straight grain oil finished American walnut stock. Brass tipped hickory ramrod. Complete with the original Armstrong dark brown leather covered hinged top casing with push button latch. The interior bottom French fit and covered in a dark green velour. The interior top padded and covered in a medium green silk which is marked in gold with the Armstrong coat of arms and the maker’s name. Mint “as new” condition.
