!!!!!SOLD!!!!! Rare Uberti 47% Scale Colt 1860 Army Prototype Percussion Revolver With Fluted Cylinder & 3 Screw Frame, Serial # 201, Purposefully Distressed! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is almost exactly the same as a “Classic Edition” United States Historical Society 47% scale miniature Colt 1860 Army revolver, except it has a fully fluted cylinder instead of the stepped cylinder with the Ormsby cylinder scene.  The revolver is 6 1/2″ long overall with a 3 23/32″ round rifled barrel.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  This miniature originally had a charcoal blue and case colored finish, but has been purposefully distressed & rusted to look old.   One piece walnut grip with some nice figure.  No barrel address, “.44 Cal” marked triggerguard, No “COLT’S, PATENT” markings.  Serial number “201”  stamped into the bottom of the barrel lug, the bottom front of the frame, the bottom front of the triggerguard, & the bottom of the backstrap.  The bottom of the barrel roll stamped with the early Uberti marking “A. UBERTI FECIT”.  The piece has just traces of the original finish with lots of rust pitting and a mostly gray/brown patina finish, yet it still functions properly.  These was likely one of a very short prototype run by Uberti for the U. S. Historical Society in the mid 80’s.  I have seen about five of these with the fluted cylinder over the last 20 odd years, but most the others had the 4 screw frame & included the detachable shoulder stock.  This is one of only a handful of 3 screw frame with fluted cylinder I have ever seen.  I think, for whatever reason, the USHS decided not to offer these to their clientele.  Unlike most of the other Uberti miniature Colt revolvers, which were made until about 2008, these miniature 1860 Colt revolvers have not been made in well over 40 years.  This is an extremely rare Uberti miniature, and makes an interesting contrast to the usually mint condition miniatures normally seen.  Someone went to a lot of time & trouble to distress this piece & make it look old & battle worn, yet still maintain the functionality, & photos taken without a scale reference would easily pass for an original period well used full size 1860 Colt fluted cylinder revolver.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
