Returned to Consignor. This is a cased pair of tiny 19th century antique, engraved, gold inlaid, folding trigger, screw off barrel, ivory gripped muff pistols by an unknown maker, probably in Belgium. The pistols measure 1 11/16″ long overall with 1/2″ barrels of about .106 caliber. Blue steel finish. The frames very nicely hand engraved. The barrels inlaid with eight gold lines equally spaced and running the length of the barrel. The rear tangs have a hanging loop. One piece pre-ban ivory grips. Accessories include a beautiful blue steel bullet mold, a lift top ivory cap box, an ivory powder flask with lift off lid, and an ivory handled screwdriver. Cased in an embossed brown leather hinged top casing with two external hook latches. The interior French fit and lined in a faded burgundy velvet. The two pistols are in excellent condition and are mechanically perfect. One pistol has a very small age crack running up from the lower rear tang screw. The other pistol is missing three of the gold inlays on the barrel, which could probably be replaced by a good engraver or jeweler. The accessories are excellent and near mint. The case is showing it’s age with flaking of the leather finish, mostly on the front around the latches and on the sharp edges. The interior fabric in good condition except for some age fading.
