Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! One of only two known double cased sets of 1/4 scale 1847 Colt Walker dragoon revolvers made by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, probably in the 1950’s. The revolvers are 4″ long overall with a 2 1/4″ part octagon part round barrels of .115 caliber. Blued steel finish except for the case colored hammers, yellow brass triggerguards, and yellow brass blade front sights. All markings are hand engraved. The top of the barrel has the proper barrel address “ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY”. The left side of the barrel lug, the left side of the frame, and the bottom of the gripstrap marked “A COMPANY NO 88 & A COMPANY NO 89”. The bottom of the barrel lug, frame, and triggerguard marked “88 & 89”. The left side of the barrel lugs marked “US, 1847” in two lines just above the wedge screw. Checkered hammer spurs, the hammers have both half and full cock, and have a crisp action when the trigger is pulled. Beautiful ivory grips with high relief carving on the left sides & a nice aged patina. The left sides depicting a typical Weston American eagle with shield. These pieces are fully functional and shoot-able. These originally came with the percussion caps, bullets, & some spare nipples so they could be shot. This set has only the original cast lead conical shaped bullets. Complete with the original Weston rosewood hinged top casing with push button latch. The case lid with a mother of pearl inlay in the center. The case interior French fit and lined in red kid goat leather. Accessories include 2 Colt marked blue steel three legged blued steel bullet molds, the caliber markings 44 on the left leg near the pivot, 2 Colt marked brass powder flask with bullet compartments and spring loaded spouts, 2 combination screwdriver/mainspring vise/nipple wrenches, and a nice quantity of the cast lead conical bullets. There are 4 compartments. 2 compartments at the back of the revolver grips which contain the bullets which have rosewood lids with ivory knobs, & two empty round compartments at the back of the case with ivory lids. There is a piece of photographic paper in a pocket in the interior lid with the Colt loading instructions. The whole set is in near mint condition showing signs of just very minor handling, I’d call it 98%. The ultimate Weston rarity! If you need more photos, email or call. I have 300+ more items to list & I’m cutting back on photos to speed up the process! Stock # CK-286. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
