!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/3 scale Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver supposedly by Paul Ellis. 4 3/8″ long overall with a 2 1/2″ octagon barrel of about .106 caliber. Machined steel construction with a blue and case colored finish except for the yellow brass triggerguard and backstrap. One piece walnut grip. Fully functional. No markings, but the cylinder has been hand engraved with the typical Ormsby naval battle scene. Checkered hammer spur. The brass bead front sight is missing, easily replaced. Complete with what looks to be the original hinged top mahogany casing with pivoting hook type latch, English fit, and lined in a dark red felt. The bottom of the case lined in green felt with a paper very loose label that reads “Bought 01445, 2-22-00, IMA, Maker Paul Ellis (?), #306”, in five lines. Accessories include a copper bodied bag type powder flask with brass top. This miniature shows about 90% original finish, the brass having turned a pleasing mellow patina. There is a flaw in the cylinder where one of the cylinder stops was cut through to the cylinder bore. The case in in excellent condition on the outside, there are some oil stains on the interior lining and the partitions are loose. Stock # TJ-12. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
