Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a Kobold 2mm pinfire Berloque pistol. Referred in Bob Urso’s book “The Tiniest Guns, 3rd Edition as G4. Information from Bob’s book used with permission. 1 1/4” long overall. Nickel plated steel with blue hammer & trigger. Serrated hammer spur and lanyard ring. The left side marked Kobold, which means Goblin in German, in script. The right side marked D.G.R.M. which stands for Deutsches Reichs GebrauchsMuster which implies that the pistol was protected in Germany on a similar basis to a patent in the U.S. Franz Pfannl manufactured the Kobold range of Berloques exclusively for Albrecht Kind in Germany, (they hold the rights to the name Kobold). Albrecht Kind was the sole distributor for Europe, the U.K., and the U.S. He is also the producer of the 2mm Penvuur (pinfire) cartridge. Although similar to Pfannl’s Kolibri berloques, it is not a rimfire but an underhammer 2mm pinfire. This is the only production underhammer pinfire that I know of. The Kobold was made after WW!, but prior to WWII. Pretty bronze/brown/gold two piece Bakelite grips held in place by yellow brass rivets. 99% near mint condition showing only the slightest signs in the chamber area of having been fired. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
