Project Description

This is a pair of 47% scale miniature Colt 1873 Single Action Army “Sheriff’s Model” revolver with 3″ barrel.  Both revolvers expertly & beautifully engraved by master engraver Roger Sampson of Minnesota in floral scrolls & border detailing with about 75% coverage.  Roger also engraved the two line barrel address on each revolver “COLT’S PT. F. A. CO, (the o in Co smaller, raised, & underlined), HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. You will rarely if ever see a two line barrel address on a Uberti SAA unless done by the engraver, or a very few done by me with a YAG laser back when I worked for IMA.  The ivory grips by Dennis Holland, carved on both sides, are probably the best work I have ever seen from him with high relief scroll borders, a high relief rampant Colt near the top on each side where you would sometimes see an inlaid Colt rampant horse escutcheon & very fine checkering in the middle.  The final polish & silver plating were done my master craftsman Terry Farrand of Minnesota, who also did charcoal blue finish on the trigger, cylinder pin, & screws.  These Colt SAA’s are also known as the “Peacemaker” and the “Frontier six Shooter”.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  each revolver is 4″ long overall with a 1 3/8″ .21 caliber rifled barrel.  Both were made by Uberti in Italy circa mid 1990’s.  The caliber marking “45 CAL” is stamped on the left rear sides of the triggerguards.  Two patent dates roll stamped on the left front of the frames.  No Uberti markings stamped into the bottom of the barrels which is very unusual.  The  serial numbers, 1715 & 1737 are stamped into the bottom of the frames & triggerguards.  715 & 737 are stamped into the bottoms of the backstraps.  15 & 37 stamped into the loading gate hinges.  Checkered hammer spurs.  Black powder frames with the early “pinched frame” style topstrap & no ejector rod or housing.   A screw retains the cylinder pin.  Near mint new condition.  An exceptional pair of miniature Colt SAA revolvers upgraded by the best craftsmen available in the US at the time they were made!  Stock # WD-114.  Price:  $8,500.00.
