This is a one of a kind 1/2 scale Colt model 1911 semi-automatic pistol with Winchester markings made by Miniart in Moscow, Russia. It is not widely known that during WWI Winchester was given a contract by the U.S. Government to produce 1911 pistols. Before they could actually get into actual production, the war ended, the contract was cancelled, and only a very few prototype pistols were produced. I found this out years ago when working for Imperial Miniature Armory, looked up the markings, then programmed our YAG laser & laser engraved the markings. It is a “ONE OF”. Machined steel construction & fully mechanically functional. The pistol will feed, chamber, extract, & eject the four included solid steel dummy cartridges when the action is manually cycled. Functional safety & grip safety. Black blue finish with walnut double diamond grips which are held in place by two screws on each side. The rear sides of the slide, the safety, & take down lever are serrated. The barrel bushing, magazine release, & hammer are checkered. Dovetailed rear sight. The mainspring housing & magazine bottom both with lanyard loops. The left side of the frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”. The left FRONT of the slide marked “LICENSE BY COLT PT. F.A. CO., —-PAT. SEPT. 8, 1902—-, DEC. 19, 1905, FEB. 14, 1911, AUG. 9, 1913” in three lines. Then there is a large “W”. Then behind that the slide is marked “—–MANUFACTURED BY—–, WINCHESTER RE’T’G ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.” in three lines. The right side of the frame marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL, No 011” in two lines. No markings on the right side of the slide. Complete with a nice walnut hinged top case with key lock, no key. the interior French fir & lined in a purple felt. Accessories include a 1/2 scale Colt manual and a 1/2 scale Winchester military issue empty cartridge box that I made when working for IMA. Near mint 99% condition. Since you will most likely never own one of the original prototypes, this could be a place holder!!! Price: $3,500.00.
