Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/3 scale 1917 Browning water cooled belt fed heavy machine gun on a tripod that converts from a ground mount to an anti-aircraft mount. Made by Miniart in Moscow, Russia about 25 years ago. The gun itself is 16 1/4″ long overall with a 10 1/2″ barrel (including the flash hider). The finish is olive drab green paint with some small parts blued steel, and the trigger & bolt assembly finished in the white. Two piece walnut pistol grips with no escutcheons, two screws entering from the left side, with hex nuts on the right side. The rear sight has the proper distance graduation markings. No other markings. Fully functional but non-firing, and will feed, chamber, extract, & eject the rounds from an ammo belt when the action is cycled manually. Unfortunately, the ammo belt for this one has been lost over the years. The tripod is likewise painted olive drab green with some small parts blued steel. The rear leg of the tripod stores the part that converts from a ground to an AA mount. There are adjustments on the tripod to limit the traverse travel of the gun, and all three legs are adjustable for uneven ground. Only a hand full of these were made, and this only is the second one I have been able to offer in the last several years. Near mint condition except there are several areas of missing paint showing the blued finish underneath. These Miniart Brownings were first blued, then painted. The olive drab paint did not stick well to the polished blue finish, so the painted finish is fragile and should be handled accordingly. Stock # RC-51. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
