This is a 1/2 scale WWII German Walther P-38 semi-automatic pistol made  by Miniart in Russia.  This piece has been expertly & beautifully presentation engraved by master engraver Tom Hicks duplicating a full size Walther P-38 pistol presented from H. Himmler to Herman Fegelein.  The pistol is profusely engraved  with oak leaves on both sides & the top of the slide, the front strap, triggerguard, the bottom front of the frame & the bottom rear of the frame.  The left side of the barrel engraved “Herman, Fegelein” in script in two lines.  Herman Feglein was the brother in law of Eva Braun, an SS cavalry officer, & part of Hitler’s staff.  The left side of the slide marked “P.38” in an oval near the front.  Behind that is engraved “Meine ? Treue”, I cannot make out the middle word.  The left rear of the slide marked with the standard “S” & “F” for the safety.  The right side of the slide engraved “? ? H. Himmler”  I can’t make out the first two words.  The serial number “005” stamped into the front of the lower barrel lug & the left front of the frame.  Gold plated finish except for the slide top cover, firing pin, extractor, & ejector which are blued.  4 3/16″ long overall with a 2 7/16″ rifled barrel of about .175 caliber.  Smooth ivory grips with a single screw entering from the left side. The top of each grip inlaid with a 14 karat gold German spread winged eagle sitting atop a round circle with a swastika.  The slide with the proper rear serrations.  Serrated hammer spur, safety lever, and take down lever.  Fully functional but non-firing.  Complete with three original solid steel 1/2 scale miniature 9mm Parabellum dummy cartridges that when loaded into the magazine and the magazine inserted into the pistol, will feed, chamber, extract, & eject when manually cycled through the action.  Includes a nice hinged top leather case with two slide latches.
