Miniart 1/2 Scale Colt 1911 A1 Engraved By Roger Sampson With Mastodon Ivory Grips Serial # OR 37

This is a 1/2 scale Colt 1911 A-1 made by Miniart in Moscow, Russia, about 1995.  This piece has been expertly and beautifully engraved by master engraver roger Sampson of Minnesota with about 75% coverage in floral scrolls and some cross hatching on the right side of the slide.  4 1/4″ long overall with a 2 15/32″ .22 caliber rifled barrel. High polish blue steel finish.  Serial #OR 37.  All parts are machined steel with a blue finish, there are no castings.  The left front of the slide marked “PATENTED APR. 20, 1897, SEPT 9, 1902, DEC. 19, 1905, FEB. 14, 1911, AUG. 13, 1913” in two lines.  There is then the rampant Colt horse logo just behind those markings.  The left rear of the slide marked “”COLT’S PT F.A.MFG CO, HARTFORD CT. USA” in two lines.  The right side of the frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911 A1 US ARMY, OR 37” in two lines.  The top of the chamber area of the barrel visible from the ejection port is marked “COLT 45 AUTO”.  Checkered hammer spur, magazine release, and barrel bushing.  The rear of the slide serrated on both sides.  Serrated slide release and arched mainspring housing.  Beautiful mastodon ivory grips with a nice mellow aged grain & two retaining screws on each side.  Fully functional and will feed, chamber, extract, and eject the included three solid steel dummy cartridges when the action is cycled manually. Functional safety and grip safety.  Near mint condition, I’d call it 98% showing only the most minor signs of handling & the grip safety starting to turn a plum color.  I will include a miniature 1/2 scale Colt owner’s manual, not shown.  Stock # WD-1273.  Price:  $7,500.00.
