Project Description

This is a 1/2 scale Winchester Model 1892 take down half magazine rifle made by master miniaturist Mike Barrett of Minnesota, engraved by master engraver Roger Sampson, & checkered by master stock maker James Corpe.  19 15/16″ long overall with a 11 1/16″ octagon rifled barrel of .22 caliber.    Straight grip, crescent buttplate.  The receiver, lever, barrel, nosecap. hammer, & buttplate beautifully engraved by Roger Sampson in scrolls with a panel scene of a big horn sheep on the left side of the receiver and a panel scene of a buck deer on the right side of the receiver.  There is a gold wire inlaid band at the barrel muzzle.  Highly polished blue finish except for the receiver which is gold plated, all done by master firearms refinisher Doug Turnbull.  Fully functional lever action including the firing pin & extractor, but the take down function is not functional, & was made that way, but looks trick!  Dovetailed sporting front sight with dovetailed elevation adjustable rifle rear sight.  The hammer has both half & full cock.  Beautiful 4X American walnut stock & forearm checkered by James Corpe.  Near mint condition as made except for a couple tiny pin prick blemishes on the left side of the barrel.  .  A really pretty little rifle!  This exact miniature rifle featured on pages 168 & 169 of the book “The Art Of Miniature Firearms!”  The engraving, checkering, & finishing, not counting the rifle itself, cost more in 1994 than my asking price!!!  Prominently featured  on pages 168 – 169 of the book “The Art Of Miniature firearms”.  Stock # CK-57.  Price:  $7,500.00.
