This is a 1/2 scale Winchester Model 1886 rifle made by master miniaturist Mike Barrett of Minnesota. 22 3/16″ long overall with a 13″ octagon rifled barrel of .22 caliber. Straight grip stock, full magazine, crescent buttplate. The piece is in the white, which is the way Mike typically sold them. There are no markings except for “MODEL 1886 engraved in the top barrel tang & Mike’s initials “M J B” monogram logo stamped into the rear of the lower tang. Fully functional including the firing pin & extractor. Dovetailed front sight with typical dovetailed step adjustable rear sight. The thumb piece of the adjustable step is checkered. The hammer has both half & full cock. Beautiful highly figured American walnut stock & forearm with a satin oil finish. A great chassis to duplicate your original full size 1886 in miniature. Would be even greater to see it lettered, engraved, maybe even gold inlaid, then blued & case colored by Doug Turnbull, along with some nice high quality checkering on the forearm & buttstock.
