Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale iron frame Henry rifle made by master miniature maker Mike Barrett of Minnesota.  21 3/16″ long overall with a 12″ octagon rifled barrel of .22 caliber.  Blued iron frame.  Blued steel sideplates, barrel, rear sight, trigger, and screws.  Case colored lever, hammer, & buttplate.  Brass cartridge lifter, magazine follower, & front sight.  Beautiful straight grained rosewood buttstock with an oil finish.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  Long range ladder rear barrel sight.  Final polishing was done by Terry Farrand of Minnesota.   All of the barrel address, serial number lettering, & proof marks were hand engraved by master engraver Roger Sampson of Minnesota.  The barrel address, just ahead of the rear sight, reads “HENRY’S PATENT OCT. 16, 1860, MANUFACT’D BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CT.” in two lines.  The serial number “73” engraved on the top of the barrel between the frame & rear sight.  Mike Barrett’s maker mark, an intertwined “MB”, is stamped into the rear of the lower tang. The letter “H” proof mark engraved on the lower tang near Mike’s marker’s mark.  The blue and case coloring done by Doug Turnbull of New York.  The top rear of the frame has a sight dovetail where the rear barrel sight can be relocated for more accurate long range shooting.  The buttplate has a trap door for a cleaning rod, but I could not get it to open with a fingernail, & didn’t want to risk scratching it using something else.  No cleaning rod in included.  Every part of this miniature was expertly done by a master of their craft, and this rifle was over three years in the making.  This rifle is truly a gorgeous masterpiece!  Mint 99%+ condition showing only the most minor signs of handling.  Mike only made four of these iron frame Henry rifles.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
