!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 2/5 scale Savage Model 311 bolt action repeating rifle made by the late Louis Elkas. Mr Elkas worked for the Savage Arms Company for 43 years, and held several patents with Savage on firearms and their manufacture. 17 1/4″ long overall with a 9 3/16″ round tapered barrel. High polish blue finish steel except for the bolt body which is finished in the white. One piece straight grain walnut stock. Serrated aluminum buttplate. This piece is only partially functional. The bolt works & the trigger “snaps” when pulled. There is a serrated switch just behind the bolt in the top of the upper tang, that when pulled rearward, prevents the bolt knob from lifting. The safety does not seem to work, but may just be stuck. The internal box magazine is functional with a spring loaded magazine follower. The metal parts are in excellent condition, showing only very minor handling wear, mostly a couple small spots on the right side of the trigger guard. The stock has some scratches and bruises, but nothing really bad, just looks like a used hunting rifle usually does! Includes a signed letter from Mr. Elkas’s wife Helen, attesting that Louis Elkas made this rifle, that he worked for Savage for 43 years, and that he held several firearms patents. Miniature bolt action high power sporting rifles are unbelievably rare, when was the last time you saw one, much less saw one for sale? I’d bet this is the only miniature bolt action high power sporting rifle made by an actual firearms manufacturer employee, and this one has patents!!! Would be a fun & worthwhile project to do some research on Mr. Elkas! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
