!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 2/5 scale miniature 1928 Savage Thompson Sub-machine gun made by Louis Elkas many years ago. Mr Elkas worked for the Savage Arms Company for 43 years, and held several patents with Savage on firearms and their manufacture. 14 1/8″ long overall with a 5 9/16″ round finned barrel, including the Cutts compensator. Includes a signed letter from Mr. Elkas’s wife Helen, attesting that Louis Elkas made this Thompson, that he worked for Savage for 43 years, and that he held several firearms patents. Highly polished blue finished steel parts except for the bolt which is finished in the white.. No markings. Beautiful highly figured vertical forward pistol grip, rear pistol grip, and buttstock. Elevation adjustable rear ladder Lyman type rear sight. 50 round “L” drum magazine. Complete with the original Louis Elkas wood violin type casing. The case interior French fit and lined in a red cloth. This is a beautiful piece, but it is not functional. the bolt is spring loaded, but there seems to be no seer, and the trigger is not articulated. I do not know what there is inside as far as working parts. The drum magazine looks perfect on the outside, but there is no feed rails, spring, or feed star. This is still a beautiful display piece made by an engineer who worked a lifetime for Savage Arms Company. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
