Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale 1872 center hammer single shot percussion made by the late Louis Elkas. Mr. Elkas was an employee of the Savage Arms Company for over 43 years, and held several firearms related patents. This piece was purchased from his wife and includes a signed letter from her stating that her husband made this piece. 3 5/8″ long overall with a round barrel of about .248 caliber. Steel construction with one piece walnut grip. The hammer has full cock only. This piece I am sure would shoot, given the proper percussion cap, powder charge, and lead ball. The steel parts are finished in the white, and are starting to show just a little gray patina. The walnut grip is excellent. Complete with the original Elkas hinged top wood casing with folding latch, the interior partially French fit, and only the area under the miniature lined in a red felt. A nice little percussion pocket pistol with documentation, which is rarely if ever encountered. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
