Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a miniature pepperbox revolver with retractable dagger by master miniaturist Larry Smith of Florida. These pepperboxes are Larry’s own design, & use some of the same parts as his miniature Colt Paterson revolvers, notably the basic frame design, hammer, & trigger. This one has what looks to be a five shot barrel, but one of the barrels houses a retractable dagger. The other four barrels will shoot the 2mm pinfire cartridges. 2 1/4″ long overall with a 1 5/16″ barrel group. The barrel, trigger, & screws are a beautiful high polished charcoal blue. Silver plated frame & grip strap. The hammer has a checkered hammer spur, & is finished in the white. Nicely figured two piece ivory bird’s head grips with a nicely aged patina, brass escutcheons, and a single screw entering from the left side. One barrel marked “-L. H. SMITH- FLA. U.S.A.”. The bottom of the grip stamped with the serial number “19”. Accessories include two lift top cap tins, one of which contains three 2mm pinfire blank cartridges, the other contains a nice quantity of cleaning patches. There are also two cleaning rod accessories, one is brass with a jagged end, walnut handle with brass ferrule, the other which is steel, finished in the white, with a loop on one end. All housed in the original Larry Smith mahogany hinged top case with slide latch. Note, Larry’s miniatures usually have a push button latch, so this is unusual. The interior is French fit & lined in a burgundy felt. The bottom of the case with the usual Larry Smith markings “-L. H-., SMITH, 19” in three lines. Near mint condition showing only the most minor signs of handling, & no signs of ever having been fired. The case has some minor dings & scratches, mostly to the top. See photos! This is the first one of these I have been able to offer in well over eight years, & is a beautiful example! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
