!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Remington Vest Pocket derringer by master miniature maker Larry Smith of Florida. 2 1/8″ long overall with a 1 5/8″ round barrel of about .110 caliber. Both sides of the frame and the bottom and sides of the breech end of the barrel are nicely engraved. Silver plated finish except for the trigger and hammer which are fire blued, the sides of the hammer polished and in the white. Checkered hammer spur. Silver plated bead front sight. Nicely figured two piece ivory grips with a nice aged patina and beautiful grain, with silver escutcheons and a single fire blued screw entering from the left side. The bottom of the barrel stamped with the serial number 77 near the trigger. The top of the frame marked “REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y., PATENT OCT. 1, 1861”. Includes the original Larry Smith walnut hinged top casing. The case interior semi-French fit and lined in a burgundy felt. The bottom of the case stamped “-L.H.-, SMITH, 77, E” in four lines. The 77 of course the serial number of the miniature inside and the E for engraved. Accessories include 12 2mm pinfire blank cartridges and a in the white steel cleaning/ejector rod with a yellow brass handle. This is the first one of these I’ve had in a long while, at least since I built the new website over 2 years ago. Excellent condition. The silver has tarnished, the fire blue on the trigger, hammer, and grip screw are 100%, and there is an age crack on each of the ivory grips running from the bottom of the grip up through and a little above the escutcheons. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
