Project Description

This is a double cased set of 1/3 scale Colt Paterson revolvers with accessories by master miniature maker Larry Smith of Florida.  Serial # 12 is  2 7/8″ long with a 1 5/16″ octagon barrel.  Serial # 13 is  3 1/4″ long with a 1 11/16″ octagon barrel.  Both barrels are .122 caliber.  The frames, backstraps, & front sights are yellow brass.  The balance of the steel parts are finished in the white with the exception of the trigger, recoil shield, trigger spring, & wedge which are fire blued.  Both revolvers barrels have barrel addresses which read “-L. H. S-”  The barrels do not  have wedge screws, which is normal on Larry’s early Colt Patersons  This pair was made in the early to mid 1970’s.  The serial numbers 12 & 13 are stamped into the bottom of the backstrap, bottom front of the frame, bottom rear of the barrel, & the rear of the cylinder.  Both revolvers have half & full cock, & will shoot the 2mm pinfire blank cartridges.  Beautiful one piece ivory grips with a great aged patina & beautiful grain!  Accessories include a one spout brass powder flask which is a cartridge container and ejector that is marked on the bottom “12 & 13” in two lines, a brass cleaning/extractor rod with a jagged end, walnut turned handle, with a brass ferrule,  & a brass lift top cap tin with faded red faded to pink with black print Eley label, the bottom marked “-L.H.-, SMITH”, in two lines.  The tin contains a quantity of lead balls.  Everything is housed in the original Larry Smith mahogany hinged top casing with slide latch and a rectangular German silver escutcheon with scalloped corners inlaid into the center of the top.  The case interior is French fit and lined in a blue felt.  The bottom of the case stamped “-L.H.-, SMITH, 12 – 13” in three lines.  Near mint condition, with the expected tarnish to the brass items.  A nice Larry Smith double cased set & the earliest, lowest serial numbered Larry Smith Patersons I have ever seen!  Price:  $2,250.00.
