Project Description

!!!!!RETURNED TO CONSIGNOR!!!!!  This is a double cased set of 1/3 scale Colt Paterson revolvers with accessories by master miniature maker Larry Smith of Florida.  Both revolvers are 4 1/8″ long with a 2 15/32″ octagon barrel of .122 caliber.  The frames & backstraps are silver plated.  The front sights are cone type made of brass.  The balance of the steel parts are finished in the white with the exception of the triggers, trigger springs, wedges, & screws which are fire blued.  Both cylinders have some blue details in the grooves & the recesses where the cartridges pins sit.  Both revolvers barrels have barrel addresses which read “-L.H. SMITH – FLA. U S A-”  The barrels do  have wedge screws, which is normal on Larry’s later Colt Patersons.  The serial numbers 267 & 268 are stamped into the bottom of the backstraps, bottom front of the frames, bottom rear of the barrels, & the rear of the cylinders.  Both revolvers have half & full cock, & will shoot the 2mm pinfire cartridges.  Beautiful highly figured one piece rosewood grips!  Accessories include a one spout powder flask which is a cartridge container and ejector that is marked on the bottom “L. H. SMITH, 2” in two lines, a three legged blue steel bullet mold with wood handles & brass ferrules casting a single round ball, a blue steel cleaning/extractor rod with a jagged end, walnut turned handle, & brass ferrule, & two silver plated lift top cap tins with green with black print Eley labels.  One tin containing a quantity of cloth patches, the other a quantity of lead balls.  Everything is housed in the original Larry Smith mahogany hinged top casing with slide latch and a rectangular German silver escutcheon with scalloped corners screwed onto the center of the top with two brass screws.  The escutcheon engraved “Colt 1836, Texas Paterson” in script.  The case interior is French fit and lined in a burgundy velour.  The bottom of the case stamped “-L.H.-, SMITH, 167 & 168” in three lines, the serial numbers being an obvious misprint or mis-stamp in this case since it should have been stamped 267 & 268.  Near mint 99% condition.  A very nice Larry Smith double cased set.  Stock # KB-02.
