Project Description

This is a 1/2 scale Wesson swivel barrel two shot derringer made by master miniaturist Larry Smith of Florida. 2 1/2″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ blue barrel group.  Brass frame & front sights, the balance of the metal fire blued. Two piece nicely figured rosewood grips with yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the left side. The top of one barrel marked “-L.H. Smith-“, the side of that same barrel marked “FRANK WESSON WORCHESTER MASS. PT. DEC. 15/68”. The serial number “56” stamped into the left side of the frame just behind the barrels.  The hammer has both half & full cock, and the hammer should be brought back to half cock before attempting to revolve the barrels, otherwise you risk damaging the tip of the firing pin.  Complete with the original Larry Smith hinged top mahogany casing with push button latch. The bottom marked “-L.H.-, SMITH, 56” in three lines. The interior English fit and lined in a dark burgundy felt.  Includes a rosewood handled brass cleaning/ejector rod and seven rounds of solid brass dummy cartridges with impressed “H” headstamps.  Also included is one fired case of the Weston 3mm centerfire externally primed ammunition which fits the miniature perfectly.  I guess I never knew these were chambered for that round and will shoot! Beautiful mint condition except for some expected tarnish to the brass.  Stock # TP-21.  Price:  $1,350.00.
