Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale Wesson swivel barrel two shot derringer with retractable center dagger made by master miniaturist Larry Smith of Florida. 2 1/2″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ barrel group.  Nicely engraved with a nickel plated brass frame.  Fire blued barrel, hammer, trigger, barrel release, grip screw, & pins.  The dagger & the screw that projects & retracts the dagger are finished in the white.  Two piece ivory grips with yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the left side.  The left side of one barrel marked “FRANK WESSON WORCHESTER MASS. PT. DEC. 15/68”.  That same barrel marked on top “-L. H. SMITH-“.  The serial number “44” stamped into the left side of the frame just behind the barrels.  Finely checkered hammer spur.  Brass pin type front sights on each barrel.  Complete with the original Larry Smith hinged top mahogany casing with push button latch & silk hinge. The bottom marked “-L.H.-, SMITH, 44 in three lines.  The case interior semi French fit and lined in a olive green felt.  Also includes a brass handled fire blue cleaning/ejector rod with jagged end, eight rounds of solid brass .22 short rimfire dummy cartridges, six rounds of 2mm rimfire blank cartridges, & some cleaning patches.  This miniature will shoot the thick rim 2mm rimfire blank cartridges.  The nickel frame looks to have been engraved after nickel plating, so there is no plating down in the engraving cuts.  The remaining plating of the original surface is about 40%, the remainder showing the brass the frame is made of.  There is a small blemish on each barrel at the rear where someone tried to close the barrels with the hammer down.  The hammer must be in the cocked position to rotate & close the barrels.  The case shows some minor handling marks.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
