Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale Reed knuckle duster seven shot derringer made by John Sutherland, about 30 – 40 years ago.  2″ long overall with a 1″ long cylinder with bores of about .115″.  The frame is beautifully hand engraved silver plated brass with about 20% remaining thinning silver plated finish.  The balance of the parts are a nicely polished blue with about 98 bright blue remaining.  The cylinder pin is a reverse or left hand thread.  The cylinder is chambered to accept the later thick rim 2mm rimfire blank cartridges.  This piece is only partially functional.  It was never made to index upon cocking, the cylinder must be hand indexed.  There is a spring loaded cylinder stop on the bottom of the frame beneath the cylinder, but the spring is weak, so the cylinder just spins freely.  This should be a relatively easy fix with a new spring.  The hammer does cock having full cock only, and the hammer falls when the trigger is depressed.  Complete with the original Sutherland walnut glass top case.  The right edge is lifted & removed to slide the glass out.  The bottom of the case with some paper stickers and 4 green felt anti-scratch pads.  This is the first miniature Reed knuckle duster I have ever had the opportunity to offer for sale!  Stock # TP-42.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
