!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale British flintlock pepperbox cased with accessories made by Regimental Sergeant Major Jack Young, who was a British service armorer. 4″ long overall with a 1 5/32″ barrel group. The six individual barrels are about .117 caliber, and are not drill through, as it is with most British made miniatures. Yellow brass frame, topstrap, pan, and triggerguard. Blue steel barrel group, trigger, frizzen, hammer, top jaw, and screws. The brass pan is also not drilled through. One piece walnut grip. The left side of the frame crudely engraved in scrolls. The right side of the frame nicely engraved “J.H. YOUNG”, on what looks like a paper scroll. The barrel group must be hand indexed, just as was the original, and has detents to lock the barrel in place, but they do not work well. They do not lock the barrel securely in the proper place. Includes the original Plexiglas topped walnut casing. Accessories include a non-functional oiler, a non-functional powder flask, a ramrod/cleaning rod, a patch cutter, and two wood handled screwdrivers. This piece has some issues, some of which I noted above. The hammer has a functional hammer spring, but the hammer will not catch. If I hold the trigger forward, the hammer tries to catch on half cock. Probably needs a new hammer spring, and maybe some work on the sear. The piece is a little crude, but could be made into a very nice piece with I think a minimal amount of work & skill. Stock # JH-1. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
