!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is miniature Bowie knife either made by J. Russell & Company, or it is a miniature of a J. Russell & Company Bowie knife. 2 9/32″ long overall with a 2 1/8″ drop point Damascus full tang blade. The left side of the blade etched “J. RUSSELL & Co.” in an arch, then a scroll underneath, then “1864” under the scroll. The markings are faint, and very difficult to photograph on the Damascus blade. Yellow brass guard. The ivory handles held in place by two steel pins. There is an old repaired crack at the butt end of both ivory handles at the rear pin. This piece really looks to be antique. The brass guard has a very dark aged patina, as does the ivory. The etching on the blade is extremely well done. There are a lot of file marks on both sides of the blade. Stock # CJ-1.
