!!!!!SOLD!!!!! Incredible Mike Barrett 1/2 Scale 1894 Winchester Rifle, Engraved, Gold & Platinum Inlaid By Roger Sampson, Checkered By James Corpe !!!!!SOLD!!!!!

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is, in my opinion, one of the best and most beautiful 1/2 scale miniature rifles ever made!  It started life as a 1/2 scale half octagon half round barrel rifle made by master miniaturist Mike Barrett.  It has been totally reworked & decorated by the finest U.S. craftsmen at their respective specialty trades.  First, the rifle was sent to master gunsmith Terry Farrand, who did the final surface preparation, making sure every surface was flat, square, the edges sharp, the final polish correct, and he polished the internal mechanisms so the action works smooth as silk.  Then it was sent to master engraver Roger Sampson who engraved the caliber markings on the top rear of the upper barrel flat & the receiver upper tang markings.  Roger also beautifully & magnificently engraved the receiver, barrel, floorplate, lever, hammer, bolt, nosecap, & buttplate, along with inlaying the gold & platinum wire border & accent details in the pattern and style of master Winchester engraver Conrad F. Ulrich..  The crowning glory is the wonderful panel scenes with gold inlaid animals.  The left side featuring a bear being chased by hunting dogs, the right side featuring a mountain lion and a buck deer, & the top of the receiver featuring the head of a bull moose.  The stocks were then sent to master stock maker James Corpe who did the incredible 40 lines per inch checkering, scroll work, and the final high gloss piano finish on the wood stocks.   Finally, the rifle was sent to Doug Turnbull for final finishing in a high polish blue.  21″ long overall with a 11 3/4″ half octagon half round rifled barrel of .22 caliber.  The steel parts are finely polished and finished a rich deep black blue.  The muzzle of the barrel, breach of the barrel, forearm cap, receiver, bolt, hammer, floorplate, upper tang, and buttplate are very finely scroll engraved with unbelievably tight and detailed scrolls.  The muzzle and breach ends of the barrel with inlaid gold and platinum bands.  The forearm cap, receiver, lever, hammer, bolt, floorplate, and upper tang with inlaid gold wire border details & accents.  The stocks are checkered with scrolls and spades with perfect execution.  This is a stunningly beautiful miniature rifle, and sure to be the centerpiece of even the most advanced collection.  The rifle is in mint new as made condition & I wish I could keep it!  This exact miniature Winchester rifle prominently featured on pages 170 – 171 in the book “The Art Of Miniature Firearms”.   Stock # CK-58.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
