Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a full size, actually a very large full size, fish hook gun as patented by H. Heineke of Germany U.S. Patent # 2,253,125, August 19, 1941.  The patent reads “A firing mechanism entirely encased in the hook so the fish will not be frightened away without biting, and so aimed that when a fish gives a sudden jerk on the hook, the firing pin will be released to strike the cartridge and the latter will be discharged, thus killing or stunning the fish”.  4 1/4″ long overall with a 1 1/2″ barrel of 4mm bore.  These take a special 4mm centerfire cartridge that is often used in sub-caliber chambers.  Blued steel finish except for the firing pin, firing pin release, and the release pivot screw which are finished in the white.  This came from an original box of 24 back when I worked for Imperial Miniature Armory.  They were original wrapped in a waxed sail cloth.  The hook is unscrewed to load, then the firing pin manually set.  Shown on page 261 of Lewis Winant’s book “Firearms Curiosa”.  Excellent near mint condition.  I will include three rounds of the proper ammunition, but do not guarantee that the firing pin spring is strong enough to set the ammo off, or that the ammo will fire at all.  Price:  $800.00.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
