!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/3 scale French St. Etienne Model 1773 flintlock martial pistol made by Gilbert Ball of France. 6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 5/8″ round smoothbore barrel of .263 caliber. These pistols were in use from about 1780 – 1820. Steel lock assembly. The barrel, ramrod, trigger, and screws are steel finished in the white. The balance of the furniture is yellow brass with a nice aged patina. The hammer has both half and full cock, with a nice crisp action. The barrel is bored through to the touch hole. The ramrod is finely threaded on the end concealed in the pistol. The lock plate is marked “Manufacture de St. Etienne”. The barrel tang is marked “1776”. One piece straight grained walnut stock. Nicely made and capable of firing given the proper flint, powder charge, and ball. Complete with a nice walnut glass topped casing, the interior French fit and lined in red velour.
