Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/3 scale French flintlock martial pistol made by Gilbert Ball of France. 5 1/2″ long overall with a 3 1/8″ part octagon part round smoothbore barrel of .267 caliber. These pistols were first issued in 1800 and were in use during the Napoleonic wars. Steel lock assembly except for the pan which is yellow brass. The barrel, ramrod, trigger, front band retainer, part of the triggerguard, and screws are steel finished in the white. The balance of the furniture is yellow brass with a nice aged patina. The hammer has both half and full cock, with a nice crisp action. The barrel is bored through to the touch hole. The ramrod is finely threaded on the end concealed in the pistol. One piece straight grained walnut stock. Nicely made and capable of firing given the proper flint, powder charge, and ball. Complete with a nice walnut glass topped casing, the interior French fit and lined in a dark teal velour. I believe these to be a real bargain!  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
