Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Philadelphia Henry Derringer made by Gilbert Ball of France. 3 1/8″ long overall with a 1 3/16″ smoothbore octagon barrel. This is a 1/2 scale miniature of one of the smallest of the Henry Derringers, commonly called the “Peanut”. I guess you could also call it a 1/3 scale miniature of one of his larger Derringers. The steel parts have a beautiful highly polished nitre blue finish. Sterling silver furniture. The ivory stock is just starting to show a really nice aged patina with a very obvious grain pattern. There are several hairline age cracks in the ivory stock which is a normal occurrence. The hammer has both half and full cock with a crisp action. The silver parts are really pristine with very little tarnish. The Steel blued parts show about 80% of the original nitre blue finish, the balance turning a plum color, & mostly on the barrel. Complete with a nice burl walnut hinged top case. The interior bottom French fit & lined in a blue/green felt. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
