Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a miniature 16th century  stonebow made by master miniaturist George Jones.  This type crossbow actually shot round stones instead of arrow like bolts.  5 11/16″ long with a 3 13/16″ steel bow finished in the white.  The bow stock is made of wood, I’m not sure what kind.   The bow string is multi strand steel wire, wrapped on the ends, & the string is doubled in the center to properly launch the stone.  The metal work on this piece is just phenomenal!  There is more going on here than I know how to describe, so look the photos over closely & see the skill, workmanship, & attention to details.  Marked on the stand base “20 GJ 04, MADE FOR KENNITH WHICHARD, JR”   Stock # MC-69.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
