Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a fantastic 1/3 scale winchester Model 70 bolt action rifle made by Donald Goossens of Cloverdale, California about 1995.  This is #7 of 10 he supposedly made, but I know of at least two that were never finished, missing the bolt.  14 7/8″ long overall with a 8 3/16″ tapered blued steel barrel of .081 caliber.  Blued receiver, the bolt assembly & sling swivel studs finished in the white.  The floorplate, triggerguard, grip cap, & buttplate are all beautifully & finely engraved & silver plated.  One piece nicely figured walnut stock.  the forearm & grip very finely & expertly checkered.  The action is functional, cocks, fires,  but the safety does not.  With the bolt removed, I can get the safety to work, so probably just needs some fine tuning.  Includes 40 dummy rounds of ammunition with brass cases, copper bullets, & white metal primers, each headstamped “W W 264 MAG”.  20 of the cartridges are displayed in the case, 20 more are in a miniature period cartridge box.  There is a one ounce .999 fine silver ingot with a depiction of a Winchester Model 70.  One reverse side it is engraved “Made By, Donald Goossens, Cloverdale, CA., for, Ralph Koebbeman, Series 1 # 7 of 10”, in six lines.  All in a hinged beveled glass topped walnut case.  The interior semi-French fit & the bottom lined in red felt.  I remember hearing about these 30 years ago, but this is the first one I have ever actually seen.  An absolutely gorgeous piece!!!  Stock # CK-120.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
