Project Description

This is a 1/3 scale Colt 1855 revolving rifle made by master miniature firearms maker David Kucer of Montreal, Canada, probably back in the 1980’s –  1990’s.  15″ long overall with a 9 1/8″ part octagon part round barrel of .180 caliber.  Machined steel construction with a blue finish except for the brass triggerguard & stock nose cap, & the steel cleaning rod that is finished in the white.  The trigger is blued with the sides polished & finished in the white.    The muzzle end of the cleaning rod is serrated, the other end is threaded & screws into the frame for security.  Two piece dark rosewood, (possibly ebony), stock with some nice figure.  Fixed front sight with a dovetailed windage adjustable three leaf folding rear sight.  The hammer with both half & full cock & the hammer spur is checkered.  The buttplate has a sliding trap door & holds a cleaning rod tip with a slot for cleaning patches.  Front & rear sling swivels.  The frame topstrap marked “COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”.  The bottom of the frame marked “D. KUCER” & the serial number “4”.  Fully mechanically functional & would probably fire given the proper percussion caps, powder, & projectile.  Complete with the original Kucer walnut hinged top casing with two slide latches.  The top right front corner with the typical Kucer inlaid coat of arms escutcheon.  The case interior French fit & lined in a dark blue felt.  Excellent condition mechanically.  Some blued steel parts are turning a bronzish color, notably the hammer, barrel bands, & buttplate, other wise the condition is excellent.  This is the first one of these I have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale in over 32 years!  Stock # CK-151.  Price:  $7,500.00.
