Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/3 scale 1928 Thompson sub-machine gun made by master miniaturist David Kucer of Canada.  11 1/16″ long overall with a 4 1/8″ round finned barrel of .15 caliber.  Fully mechanically functional, but non-firing.  The barrel length includes the Cutts compensator.  Blued steel finish with highly figured walnut fore grip, pistol grip, & detachable stock.  The buttplate has the trap door for an oiler, oiler included.  Lyman windage & elevation adjustable micrometer rear sight.  The fire control lever, magazine release lever, bolt knob, and stock release button are finely checkered.  The sides & top of the receiver properly marked.  The serial number 12 stamped into the left side of the receiver and the buttstock fitting.  The buttstock fitting also marked “D. KUCER”.  Fully functional 50 round “L” drum magazine with a Parkerized finish.   Includes the original Kucer cocobolo wood hinged top case with two push button checkered latches.  The interior French fit & lined in a dark red felt.  The gun shows 98%+ original bright blue finish, the magazine with 98%+ original Parkerizing finish.  There is some loss of finish to the wood.  There is a small thin crack in the top of the frame just forward of the Thompson bullet logo marking going from side to side, & the ejector is missing.  The case is in poor condition showing cracks, deep scratches, & the Kucer Logo escutcheon is missing from the lid.  The interior lining is stained & discolored.  The last one of these I sold several years ago, which was in mint condition, sold for $12.5K.  This would be a good project for an experienced machinist, or just love it for what it is.  Priced accordingly.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
