!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a special ordered 1/2 scale Colt # 3 derringer by the late master miniature maker Daniel Osterman of Oregon. 2 7/16″ long overall with a 1 3/16″ rifled barrel of about .185 caliber. The frame & barrel are cast German silver that has been polished to look like nickel plating. The other parts are steel & finished in the white, except for the pivot screw which is fire blued. This miniature was special ordered from Dan by the late Nelson Perry. It is engraved by master engraver Roger Sampson of Minnesota and has mother of pearl grips. The grips have yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the right side. The top of the barrel has the proper Colt markings. The bottom of the barrel marked 1/100, and only visible when the action is opened. The bottom of the grip marked “D.E.O. +”. Complete with the original Osterman manila colored with black print lift top cardboard box. The interior bottom French fit and lined in a gray velour. Mint new and perfect, but does show some attractive age patina of the German silver. Daniel made far fewer of the Colt # 3’s than he did the # 1’s & # 2’s, and they seldom show up for purchase. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
