Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/3 scale swivel breech double barrel flintlock Kentucky rifle by master miniature maker Art Holly. 19″ long overall with two 12 15/16″ octagon rifled barrels of .22 caliber. The barrels are browned, and bored through to the touch holes. The lockplate, hammer, pan, frizzen springs, & frizzens are also browned. The lockplate lightly engraved and marked in script capitol letters “AH”. The hammer has only half cock. Full cock does not work so thge lock needs some attention. Brass & silver furniture with some modest engraving. Engraved manually opened brass patchbox with a silver antlered deer attached. The top of the barrel signed “A. Holly” in script. The sideplate is brass with a beautifully engraved three masted sailing ship in an ocean scene. The front & rear rear sights are browned steel and dovetailed in place. There are four bands inlaid into the top flat at the rear of the barrel near the tang & five near the muzzle that look to be tarnished silver. The stocks are three piece & a figured fiddleback maple with a raised cheekpiece on the left side. There is a silver engraved eight point star with a pearl center inlay in the cheekpiece. The bottom of the cheekpiece has an interesting ivory insert, & under that a tiny silver tube that holds a silver vent pick. Three brass ramrod thimbles. Hickory ramrod with brass tip. A pretty rifle with great lines by a great highly collectable maker. Art Holly miniature rifles are very seldom offered for sale. Excellent condition except for the already mentioned problem with the lock. Priced accordingly, no refunds or returns. This is a $3,500.00 rifle with the lock repaired! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
