!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an antique 10 gauge blank firing salute cannon made by The Strong Fire Arms Company of New Haven, Connecticut between 1892 and 1898. Beautiful bronze breech loading barrel with a great aged patina. Mahogany naval type carriage with wheels only on the front. 15″ long overall with a 10″ round bronze smoothbore barrel with a bore of .790. Hinged breech,manual extractor. The barrel with breech measures 13 1/2″ from the muzzle to the rear of the firing pin knob. 2 1/8″ diameter wheels. Bronze fittings, screw type elevation mechanism. The breech block marked “MFNF’D BY, THE STRONG FIREARMS, -CO-, NEW HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A.” in five lines. Beautiful condition except missing the firing pin release which is easily made and a few bumps on the muzzle. Shoots 10 gauge black powder blank shells. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
