Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a miniature double barrel percussion shotgun made in Belgium in 1924 by an unknown maker.  15 1/4″ long overall with 7 1/2″ barrels.  6 3/4″ length of pull from the front trigger.  Beautiful blued steel barrels with engraving and a hooked breech.  Blued and engraved top tang.  The top rib is engraved for about the first 1 1/2″, the balance matted.  Brass bead front sight.  The lock plates and hammers are engraved and blued.  Finely checkered hammer spurs.  Typical double triggers.  The triggerguard and forearm cap/ramrod thimble engraved and blued.  Blue unadorned buttplate.   The triggers and screws are bright blue fire blue.  An engraved nickel silver patchbox is inlaid into the right side of the buttstock .  Straight grained walnut one piece stock with very finely checkered wrist and forearm, with some beautiful scroll & leaf carving on the bottom of the stock behind the grip.  There is a single wedge in the middle of the forearm with a nickel silver escutcheon on each side.  When the ramrod is removed and the wedge is pulled the barrels can be removed.  The bottom of both barrels with Belgium proof marks, the date 1924, and other markings that I can’t decipher.  Beautiful condition showing 98% blue, the only noticeable blue loss to the bottom of the forearm cap/ramrod thimble.  The stock about 95+% with some minor handling marks.   Miniature shotguns are rare, and this is a really nice one!  I have had two similar miniature percussion shotguns in the past, both were more elaborate that this one, but I’m sure all three were made by the same hands.  One had round Damascus barrels, the other had octagon Damascus barrels.  Condition wise, this one is the best!  Stock # BK-34.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
