Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an antique four shot “Le Quatra Morts” (The Four Deaths in French) 3mm pinfire ring gun by an unknown maker, probably made in France or Belgium in the 1860’s to 1880’s. The ring looks to be silver, but shows no hallmarks. The back side of the ring engraved “LE QUATRA MORTS” along with some vine & leaf engraving. The balance of the parts are fire blued steel. The interior of the ring measures .813. The four leaf clover shaped cylinder measures .360 tall X .588 across the opposite cylinders. The cylinder is manually indexed, and there is no cylinder stop, you just line up the cylinder bore under the hammer. The trigger is the lever on the side, the top of which sticks out opposite the hammer. Complete with a hinged top gray leatherette with gold trim case with push button latch & a small screwdriver for removing the cylinder for loading. There are holes in the case for eight cartridges, & there are three fired 3mm pinfire cartridges included. The interior bottom of the case French fit and lined in a purple velour. The lid interior lined in an off white silk with the trade name “P. Guorin” and some other undecipherable lettering in gold print.
