Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! That’s right, a 1/2 scale left hand flintlock Kentucky pistol by an unknown maker! I have been collecting and dealing in antique firearms for over 50 years, & I have never seen a left hand flintlock or percussion pistol. The lock assembly is on the left side, not the right as is usual. It’s was most likely made for a left hand shooter. 7 13/16″ long overall with a 5 1/16″ rifled octagon barrel of .220 caliber. Dovetailed brass blade front & steel sporting rear sight. The steel parts are browned. The furniture is brass. There are several German silver decorations at the barrel pins, on each side of the wrist, and just behind the rear of the top tang. One piece walnut stock with a beautiful flared grip and a decorative line on each side just above the ramrod. Hickory looking ramrod with a brass tip on one end and a brass cleaning jag on the other. The piece would not cock when I received it because the “V” spring that tensions the sear is broken, but the tumbler has notches for both half & full cock which both hold when I tension the sear with my finger. I sent it to Larry Smith who made a new spring & it now works perfectly. Excellent condition now with a great look to it. A very unusual piece! Stock # CS-1. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
