!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an original ivory grip set for a U. S. Historical Society “Presidential Edition” Colt 1860 Army percussion revolver. These were made with two ivory sides with an aluminum spacer. On this set, the spacer is marked with the number 68, or maybe 89. There is a crack in each grip side about 1/3 from the top, running from the rear of the grip about half way through. It is very typical of ivory to crack with age as it dries, especially if kept in a very dry low humidity climate. A little Super Glue on the cracks inside of the grips should keep them from spreading. This set would be proper for most any USHS or Uberti Colt 1860 Army percussion, as well as the USHS or Uberti 1873 Colt single action army cartridge revolvers. Please understand that the steel backstrap, the triggerguard rear tang, and the grip on these miniatures were all shaped on a belt sander by hand, so all will be slightly different.
