!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a solid 14 karat gold 1/4 scale Colt single action army “Bisley” target revolver with 7 1/2″ barrel made by Alex Baez in Los Angeles, California and Herschel Kopp in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alex actually made all the parts. Hersh put them together, made them properly function, & did the pantograph engraving of the lettering. 3 1/8″ long overall with a 1 3/4″ barrel of .102 caliber. It is entirely made of 14 karat gold except for the steel springs, the blued grip screw, and the black hard rubber two piece grips. 7 1/2″ barrel, black powder frame, checkered hammer spur. The top of the barrel pantograph engraved “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The left front of the frame similarly engraved with the two patent dates, and the rampant horse Colt logo in a circle. The left rear of the barrel engraved “BISLEY MODEL”. The action is fully functional, and the hammer has the proper four clicks when cocked. Complete with the original Kopp hinged top walnut case with push button latch. The interior bottom semi-French fit and lined in a green felt. There is an inset full size .45 long Colt cartridge head in the interior bottom just under the barrel with the headstamp “W – W 45 COLT”, surrounded by six solid brass dummy cartridges. The interior lid lined in a green silk. Mint new as made condition. Weight is 1.4 ounces of 14K gold minus the springs & grips. Works out to .8167 ounces of solid gold with a current gold value of about $2,493.00. This is not counting the labor, artistry, time, & skill required to make this beautiful piece! This piece was originally bought in July 1996 for $2,400.00, when gold was way cheaper than it is now,! Gold is currently flirting with $3,053.00/ounce.
