!!!!!SOLD!!!!! AL Shelton, Famous Hollywood Saddle & Holster Maker/Artist, 1/4 Scale Hand Carved & Tooled Brown Single Loop Leather Holster For A Colt 1873 Single Action Army Revolver, Marked With The Makers Info, Dated 1965 !!!!!SOLD!!!!!

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/4 scale hand carved & tooled brown single loop leather holster for a Colt single action army revolver, & would also work for a Colt 1860 Army revolver.  3 1/32″ tall, 1 7/16″ wide, 13/16″ thick.  Beautifully carved & tooled in almost unbelievable intricate detail in floral motifs.  Perfect scale stitching.  The holster is fully lined.  The brass buckle on the holster loop shows some green verdigris, which should easily clean off.  Some people like that look, so I’m leaving it alone.  The back side of the holster is stamped “HAND MADE BY, AL SHELTON-LEATHER ARTIST, STUDIO CITY-L.A. CALIF.”  It is also stamped “1963”.  Al Shelton supplied many of the holsters & gunbelts for the Hollywood western actors which were so very popular during that time period.  I was told Al used this miniature holster to showcase his skill to prospective clients, something he could carry in his pocket, & it was never meant for sale, until someone offered him just really stupid money for it.  This is surely a one-of-a-kind item of the highest quality by a well known & respected Hollywood leathersmith/artist, & the highlight of most any Hollywood western era holster collection!  Excellent condition considering it’s age.  The holster pocket shows signs of having held a revolver, probably some period toy, & there is some leather crazing to the lining leather.  Stock # MC-58.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
