Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% scale Winchester 1866 carbine made by Uberti in Italy.  18 3/4″ long overall with a 9″ rifled round barrel of .21 caliber.  These are often referred to as the Winchester “Yellow Boy” carbines because of their brass receiver, sideplates, and buttplate.  Truly exceptional highly figured French walnut buttstock and forearm with high gloss varnished finish.  Gold plated brass receiver, sideplates, buttplate and cleaning rod trapdoor.  High polish blue steel barrel, magazine, barrel bands, & screws.  The lever, hammer, & trigger case colored by Dough Turnbull in New York.  The carbine buttplate with the sliding trapdoor for a cleaning rod (cleaning rod not included).  The hammer spur finely checkered.  Serial number “79” stamped into the lower tang.  The top of the barrel just ahead of the rear sight roll stamped “A UBERTI-ITALY”.  The rear sight is a standard 1866 carbine two leaf flip type.  Full magazine, straight wrist, & carbine buttplate.  Beautiful craftsmanship and typical Uberti high quality.  Complete with a beautiful walnut hinged top case with a dust ledge and two key locks.  The interior lined in a purple felt, with the interior lid padded to hold the carbine in place.  There is a rectangular recess in the interior bottom that holds the two case keys, covered by a wood grained piece of heavy paper, which is lifted by a purple ribbon.  Near mint new condition with just a few tiny handling marks on the stock, I’d call it 98+%.  Only a handful of these have the case colored parts by Doug Turnbull, which cost about $400.00 per miniature.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
