!!!!!SOLD!!!!! An extremely rare cased miniature solid sterling silver William IV knife & fork set – dated 1834. This is almost certainly a one-off manufacturer’s sample set in miniature to show prospective customers in the hope that they will purchase a complete full sized Silver Cutlery set. Made in Sheffield during the reign of William IV by the regarded silversmith – Aaron Hadfield in 1834. They are a perfect replica in miniature. The knife is fully hallmarked and the matching fork has two tiny corresponding hallmarks. Housed in its original maroon leather and velvet lined case with working catch. The craftsmanship and detailing are truly outstanding and to find a miniature set in this remarkable condition is very rare. This is not a “Christening Set” which are larger and more commonly available. Case size: 4.1/4″ long x 1 3/8″ wide x 1/2″ deep. Knife size: 3 3/4″ long x 1/2″ wide. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
