Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% scale black double holster miniature gunbelt rig made by master leathersmith Tad Mizwa of Houston, Texas along with 2 Uberti Colt single action army revolvers with 4 3/4″ barrels made by Uberti in Italy.  A really nice set, seldom seen or offered for sale!

The two revolvers are black blue with case colored frames, loading gates, & hammers.  Black powder frames with the early pinched frame topstraps, round bullseye ejector rod buttons, and the cylinder pins retained by a screw.  Consecutive serial numbers 1460 & 1461 stamped into the front bottoms of the frames & triggerguards.  460 & 461 stamped into the bottoms of the gripstraps.  60 & 61 stamped into the loading gate hinges.  The barrels with the proper two line Colt barrel address “COLT’S PT. F.A. CO., HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”.  The left front of the frames with the two line patent dates “-PAT. JULY 25, 1871-, -JULY 2, 1872-“.  The left rear of the triggerguards stamped “.45 CAL.”.  The bottoms of the barrels stamped with Uberti’s mark “A. UBERTI-ITALY”.    Blued blade front sights.  The hammers have checkered spurs, both half & full cock, and the proper four clicks when the hammers are cocked.  Both revolvers with one piece walnut grips with a oiled satin finish.  Both revolvers are in mint new condition.  It is a rare thing these days to find a consecutively numbered pair, especially with the proper two line barrel addresses!

The belt measures 23 1/2″ long.  The belt & single loop holsters are profusely & expertly +hand carved and tooled.  Tad’s makers stamp is on the tongue end of the belt under the buckle strap & on the front bottom of the backing flaps under each holster.  The stitching is the proper scale.  Both holsters and the belt are fully lined & have a six point sterling silver star marked “DEPUTY, US, MARSHAL” in three lines.  There are 15 cartridge loops on the gunbelt containing 15 solid brass dummy cartridges with “W-W .45 COLT” headstamps.  The dummy cartridges made by Barnes Bullets.  This is a miniature of a fancy drop Buscadero rig gunbelt.  Fully hand engraved sterling silver buckle hardware made by VOGT in Mexico.  Really nice, high quality work!  Tad taught leather work, wrote books on the subject, and also made miniature rifle scabbards & saddles.  He passed away several years ago & his work is increasingly more difficult to find.  Stock # BK-46.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
