Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/6 scale very high quality miniature Brazilian presentation sword complete with original presentation box and medal. 6 1/16″ long overall in the scabbard, 5 3/4″ long without the scabbard, with a 4 7/16″ beautifully etched steel blade. The handles look to be an ivory colored celluloid. The scabbard body is steel finished in the white. All of the furniture is gold plated. The crossguard, handle fittings, drag, and hangers are very ornately detailed. The quality and workmanship is truly unbelievable, and seldom if ever seen on a miniature sword. Even the case is of very high quality. The blade has the Coat of Arms for the Duke of Caxias Luis Alves de Lima e Silva etched on one side and “DUQUE DE CAXIAS” surrounded by floral designs on the other. Attached to the inside of the case lid is a silver medal on an Yellow and Green ribbon with the words “HONRA AC MERITO”. The case is a dark purple with gold trim and a gold five point star in the center of the top with an inscription that I can not read. The case measures 7 7/16″ X 2 3/8″ X 1 3/16″. The interior bottom is lined in a dark royal blue velour with a cream colored silk cord edging. The interior lid is lined in a cream colored silk. The sword and scabbard are in about 99% original condition with just a couple tiny areas where the gold plating has flaked off. The case shows some wear to the corners and edges, and some minor flaking at the right rear corner of the interior edges that shows when the case is opened. Also included is a two page biography of the Duke of Caxias Luis Alves de Lima e Silva. This is probably the nicest miniature sword I have ever seen! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
